The Lufthansa heist has gone down to be the biggest robberies in the U.S. The Robbery was done at the John F. Kennedy International airport on December 11[th] 1978. A total of 5 million dollars and $875,000 worth of jewels were stolen. Louis Werner was a supervisor of the Lufthansa Airlines. He was the brains behind the robbery. When Werner knew about the two million dollar shipment arriving from Franklin International Bank that's when Jimmy planned the perfect robbery. Jimmy Burke was an associate to the Lucchese mafia family, since Jimmy was Irish he couldn't be official sworn in as a made member of the Lucchese family.
Within three or four days following the robbery, the FBI had a good idea who was behind the robbery. They had narrowed it down to two crews. The John Gotti crew from Howard Beach and the Jimmy Burke crew from Ozone Park. The robbery was an extensively thought out plan and was carried out in such a remarkable way they got out in under a hour; to them they got away with the perfect crime. They expect to walk out with a few million dollars but they didn't expect a 5 million dollar pay out. Undercover detectives started frequenting bars talking to women about the heist and within twenty four hours they knew the whole story behind the robbery. Being able to prove that Jimmy, Tommy and Frank were behind the robbery would take more than that. They needed some type of forensic evidence or to have someone talking about what went down which no one at the time was doing. The detectives finally caught a break when the van describe by a witness was spotted in the NYC area. The plan was to have another crew member by the name Steven "Stacks" Edwards get the van crushed by a mob controlled junk yard. But that night Stacks got drunk and ...

Being it is a factor of death, capital punis...
The topic of gun control is one that many people feel strongly about, on both the pro side and the con side. Each year 1,600 innocent people are needlessly killed each year at the hands of drug criminals (Ostrowski 27). Enormous amounts of money are spent each year in the fight against drugs. Furthermore, there are actually sick people that need marijuana to ease their suffering. These are a few of the reasons why I believe that the legalization of mari...
Throughout history, minorities have been ill-represented in the criminal justice system, particularly in cases where the possible outcome is death. In early America, blacks were lynched for the slightest violation of informal laws and many of these killings occured without any type of due process. As the judicial system has matured, minorities ha...
Is it fair to punish someone for a crime that they may not have committed? Should an Olympic athlete be punished for taking a drug that does not affect his performance, or give him a disadvantage over his competitors? As many of you may have heard, Ross Rebagliati is the Canadian snowboarder that won the first ever Olympic Gold Medal for...
Reintroducing corporeal punishment would lower the crime rate and give some justice to the victims. There should be a defined level to the punishment and to which crimes it should be dealt. Establishing such laws should also take in to account the growing crime rate and the need to solve this problem. America broke free from the rule of England...

Introduction We are living in what is usually described as an 'information society' and as the business community makes ever greater use of computers the courts are going to find that increasingly the disputes before them turn on evidence which has at some stage passed through or been processed by a computer. In order to keep in step with this prac...
