Healthcare is one of the top social and economic problems facing Americans today! The rising cost of medical care and health insurance is impacting the livelihood of many Americans in one way or another. The inability to pay for necessary medical care is no longer a problem affecting only the uninsured, but is increasingly becoming a problem for those with health insurance as well. Going to the doctor office for a routine physical or check up may seem to be given in America. For 44 million Americans going to get a check up or regular appointments is not an option. 44 million people currently don't have health insurance (. Meaning people are only visiting a doctor when the situation is uncontrollable and need urgent medical assistance. The purpose of the routine check-ups and checking in with a doctor regularly is to catch problems in their earlier stages, and to keep track of people's health. Many hospitals and doctors will not serve people without insurance because it would be nearly impossible to pay medical bills without insurance. The uninsured Americans typically do not choose to go without health insurance but often have no choice in certain situations.
